锘縎acramento area gets ready for a fit girls night out
This November, the typical girls night out will have a twist - fitness.
That's because many of the Sacramento area's Jazzercise class locations will be hosting a one-night-only Girls Night Out. The events all focus on a burlesque-themed dance fitness class, with each location offering slightly different spins on the night.
According to Jazzercise, the Burlesque class combines sassy, showgirl-inspired moves with cover songs by artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and the Pussycat Dolls to create a cardio dance workout that feels more like a girl's night out. The class also focuses on strengthening the core while burning calories and toning the abdominals, arms and legs.
"The Burlesque workout features moves you can take out to the dance club," said Jazzercise President Shanna Missett Nelson. "You will have so much fun dancing to your favorite songs, you won't even realize you're working out."
The cover charge at each location is $15. Those wanting to attend Girls Night Out should contact the location they want to attend, because space is limited. Attendees will want to wear comfortable clothing they can dance and move in. Open to the public, Sacramento-area women are encouraged to grab a girlfriend or two and hit one or more of the following nights:
Jazzercise Sacramento is hosting its Girls Night Out at 6:30pm. The fitness center will be a night club atmosphere with a special "Lipstick Lounge" where refreshments will be served. Jazzercise Sacramento Owner Loanne Hensley said anyone who wants to continue the party can join them at Scott's Seafood.
"It's going to be a big party," Hensley said. "It's the club before the club".
